ARTIST’S STATEMENT:

Steve has recently returned to photography and to Devon after a period working and living in London and the Southeast. He developed a distinctive graphic style early on while photographing for corporate brochures and magazines and this has slowly evolved over the years into a more sensitive and artistic approach.

Always drawn to the landscape, his time away from the camera has enabled him to revisit many places with a fresh eye as well as stimulating the discovery of new subjects such as flowers, plants and abstracts.

This collection of images has been inspired by the beauty discovered in the death and decay found around his garden and close to his home. A beauty often overlooked and too quickly consigned to the compost heap or rubbish tip. It is a reaction against the sterilisation of the world around us and a celebration and championing of the undesirable, the neglected and wrinkles!

Steve lives next to the River Dart which offers him an unending source of ideas.
